Day of the Dead Webquest 

Introduction:

This webquest explores the Mexican holiday, Day of the Dead, and the aspects that surround this celebration. The purpose of this lesson is to learn about a little more about the activities, history, food, and artists behind this holiday.

The Task:

Your job is to explore various web sites to help in your understanding of Day of the Dead.  You will go to different internet sites to help you answer the questions.  You will also use these sites to make your power-point presentation.

Activity One :  answer questions over El Dia de los Muertos

Either open the following Quest Sheet, type on it, then print your answers, or get a hand out from the teacher and fill it out.  Thanks

open the Day of the Dead Quest Sheet  (questions over the holiday, food, vocabulary regarding DDLM)

• Click on the Day of the Dead Information site. Answer the questions 1-11on your Quest sheet.

• Click on the Dia de los Muertos site. Once there, click on food. Answer the questions 12-17 on your Quest Sheet

• Click on this Dia de los Muertos site.  Answer questions 18-24 on the quest sheet.

• Click on the Dia de los Muertos site. Once there, click on history. Using the glossary of words, complete the 10 wordplay definitions.  

Conclusion:

After completing the Quest sheets, listening and viewing power point presentations, and seeing different drawings and photographs and information on the internet, you should have a better understanding of Day of the Dead and everything that is involved with this holiday.
